Accessibility Statement

 

Introduction

Dunsley Hall is a Luxury retreat set in the beautiful countryside of Kinver. With 11 bedrooms, Restaurant and lounge areas within this grade II listed building it is the perfect getaway for a short break.

It has good transport links to Stourbridge and Birmingham for business needs.

All of our bedrooms are on the first floor, with only a stair case for access. Unfortunately we cannot provide lift access because the grade II listed status of the building prevents us from installing one.

The main Hall dining, lounges and disabled toilet facilities can be accessed by wheelchairs from the same ground level as the car park, which is flat and gravelled. On the ground floor we have temporary ramps to provide further access to other parts of the hall.

Pre arrival

If using public transport to get to us, there is a local bus service from Stourbridge Bus station that will stop outside the car park entrance to the hall and is aprox 200 metres from the main hall entrance. This service is 227

Alternatively the Hall can provide local taxi company numbers.

Car Parking and Arrival

The Hall offers free parking. The car parks are large and well lit, gravelled and located at the front and rear of the property.

Access to the main entrance of the hall is on the same ground level as the car parks for easy wheelchair access. Parking is available directly outside the front door and there are aprox 30 parking spaces at the front and aprox 80 at the rear.

Welcome Area

Upon arrival to reception the lounge, restaurant, toilet and baby change facilities are all wheelchair accessible. The hall has stone flooring throughout the main areas and carpet in the lounges and dining areas.

Our attentive staff will be happy to assist you upon arrival.

Bedrooms and en-suite Facilities

All of our bedrooms are on the first floor, with only a stair case for access. The height of individual steps are 18cm and width is 94cm. There is a turn in the stairs at the 5th step and there are 17 steps in total.  Unfortunately we cannot provide lift access because the grade II listed status of the building prevents us from installing one.

There are two small steps leading up to the following rooms:

Tiffany room: (single occupancy)

Toilet/shower en-suite, there is a step up into the bathroom and a small step into the shower cubical

Bouquet room: (double occupancy)

A step down into this bedroom, and a step up into the shower

Marsh room: (double occupancy)

The en-suite is all on the same level in this room and there is a small step up into the shower cubical

Rose room: (double occupancy)

The shower/toilet en-suite is all on the same level in this room there is a small step into the shower, and a small step into the bay window seating area

Wittington room: (double occupancy)

The en-suite is all on the same level in this room and there is a small step up into the shower cubical

There is a small step into the Garden Room: (Family room, Twin plus single occupancy)

Toilet/shower en-suite, there is a step up into the bathroom and a large step into the shower.

 

Nursery room: (double occupancy)

Toilet/shower en-suite, there is a step up into the bathroom and a large step into the shower. It also has a bath that is 65cm tall.

There are 3 steps down to access the following rooms:

There are two large steps up into the Delft room: (double or twin occupancy)

Toilet/shower en-suite, there are 2 steps up into the en suite and 1 small step into the shower

There are 3 steps up to Throckmorton room: (double occupancy)

This room is split level with a bath that is 60cm in height at its lowest point, shower and toilet room downstairs that has a small step into the shower. There is a standard stair case leading to the bedroom upstairs.

Cottage room: (double occupancy)

There is one step into the shower cubical, the en-suite is all on the same level in this room

Dunsley room: (double occupancy)

All of our rooms are unique; you can call a member of our staff and discuss which room would be most suitable for your needs

Public Areas

Dunsley Hall’s public areas have been lovingly restored to keep the halls old English charm and heritage alive. It is well lit throughout and the lounge areas are furnished with comfortable furniture for you to relax on in front of the roaring log fires.

Public Toilets

There are two sets of public toilets, including a unisex disabled toilet with baby changing facilities. It has vertical hand rails installed and an alarm with a light to attract attention. The door width is 80cm and It is located on the ground floor level which is easily accessible from the main entrance, restaurant and dining areas.

Dining room

We have two restaurant areas, both are located at ground floor level and the other is accessible by a temporary ramp.

Garden

The gardens have wheelchair access onto the main terrace from the car park. If going through to the gardens from the restaurant, there is a small step which can be overcome by using a temporary ramp.
